Daniel Amos

Mr. Daniel P. Amos serves as Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer of the Company. He is no longer President. Mr. Amos has been Chief Executive Officer of the Company and Aflac since 1990, Chairman since 2001, President of Aflac from July 2017 to May 2018, and President of Aflac Incorporated since February 2018. He has spent 40 years in various positions at Aflac. Institutional Investor magazine has named Mr. Amos one of America’s Best CEOs in the life insurance category five times. Harvard Business Review has named Mr. Amos among the World’s Best Performing CEOs in each of the past four years. CR Magazine recently honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedication to corporate responsibility. Mr. Amos’ experience and approach deliver insightful expertise and guidance to the Board of Directors on topics relating to corporate governance, people management, and risk management.

Eric Kirsch

Mr. Eric M. Kirsch serves as Executive Vice President, Global Chief Investment Officer, Aflac and President of Aflac Asset Management LLC of the Company. Before joining Aflac, Kirsch most recently served as managing director and global head of insurance asset management, including portfolio management, insurance advisory services and distribution at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM). Kirsch was recruited by GSAM to create a dedicated global insurance business. In that capacity, he managed a global team of more than 55 professionals and was instrumental in elevating GSAM's reputation as a top insurance asset manager. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, he spent 27 combined years at Deutsche Asset Management (DeAM) and Bankers Trust Company, most recently serving as managing director and global head of insurance asset management. At DeAM, Kirsch was responsible for a staff of more than 100 people including teams in North America, Europe and Asia and oversaw total insurance assets of more than $150 billion while a member of the Global Operating Committee of DeAM. Prior to this, Kirsch served as managing director and head of North America Fixed Income, responsible for more than $150 billion of assets across institutional and retail clients and multiple fixed income investment strategies. He also previously served as vice president and stable value portfolio manager at Bankers Trust Company. Kirsch received a bachelor of business administration in business and finance from Baruch College in 1984, and a master's of business administration from Pace University in 1988. He earned his CFA designation in 1990.

Albert Riggieri

Mr. Albert A. Riggieri serves as Senior Vice President - Global, Chief Risk Officer and Chief Actuary of the Company. Riggieri joined Aflac in 2016 in the role of senior vice president; corporate actuary with responsibility for corporate actuarial initiatives in the areas of valuation, reinsurance, systems development and support of strategic initiatives and overall financial management matters, in addition to all actuarial financial reporting activities. Prior to joining Aflac, he held various actuarial positions of increasing responsibility at Unum Group, where he most recently held the position of senior vice president; chief actuary. Riggieri has been involved with and made various contributions to industry actuarial committees. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he served as an adjunct professor teaching actuarial exam preparation courses. James Hennessy

Mr. James J. Hennessy serves as Senior Vice President - Pre-Sales Operations of the Company. He has been promoted to senior vice president of Pre-Sales Operations and Aflac Group Operations, reporting to Virgil R. Miller , executive vice president; chief operating officer, Aflac U.S. and president of Aflac Group. In this role, Hennessy is responsible for leading the planning, development and implementation of Aflac U.S. Pre-Sales Operations and driving the culture, strategy and operational plans for Aflac Group operations. Hennessy joined Continental American Life Insurance (now Aflac Group) in 1996, and for more than 20 years has helped guide the Aflac Group teams through tremendous growth in a variety of leadership roles in areas including asset management, compliance, operations and distribution. He has been recognized for his insightful review of existing operations, streamlining and improving processes and increasing operational efficiencies and performance. He was promoted to vice president in 2013, most recently serving as vice president of Strategic Asset Management, focused on group account retention. Hennessy holds a bachelor's degree in political science and criminal justice from Canisius College and previously served in the United States Army. He has also served on the board of the Association of South Carolina Life Insurance Companies (ASLIC) and the board of Palmetto Children's Hospital, where he continues to serve in a voluntary capacity. He recently served on the board of the Prisma Health Children's Cancer Center and currently serves on the board for the March of Dimes ELT.

Jeramy Tipton

Mr. Jeramy Tipton serves as Senior Vice President - Distribution Expansion and Consumer Markets of the Company. Tipton has been promoted to senior vice president, Distribution Expansion and Consumer Markets, reporting to Richard L. Williams Jr. , executive vice president; chief distribution officer. In this newly expanded role, Tipton is responsible for leading the fully aligned direct-to-consumer business market to execute on Aflac's U.S. growth strategy. He is also responsible for driving sales and leading all of the financial, marketing and operational aspects of the direct-to-consumer business, including oversight of partnership programs, digital expansion and driving profitable growth. Tipton joined Aflac's marketing team in 2011 as second vice president, where he was responsible for developing sales tools and innovative marketing strategies to drive broker sales among large employers. Tipton brings both breadth and depth of over two decades of marketing and sales experience including extensive work in the broker and personal producer space, and he has worked to develop marketing and sales concepts for many of the largest voluntary benefits transactions in the history of the business. He was promoted to vice president in 2014, where he led the strategy to develop Everwell, Aflac's web-based enrollment platform for small businesses. Since its introduction, Everwell has grown tremendously and ultimately served to replace Aflac's legacy enrollment technology in the U.S. Most recently, Tipton was responsible for driving growth for Aflac by leading the product development, technology and operations for Aflac's consumer market initiative that focuses on innovative, digital-first consumer insurance products. Tipton holds a bachelor's degree in communications and media studies from the University of Oklahoma .

Shannon Watkins

Ms. Shannon Watkins serves as Senior Vice President - Brand and Creative Services of the Company. She has been promoted to senior vice president, Brand and Creative Services, reporting to Teresa L. White , president of Aflac U.S. As Aflac's head of Brand and Creative Services, Watkins is responsible for driving and leading all aspects of brand strategy, advertising, media, experiential marketing, creative services and event production. Watkins joined Aflac in April 2018 as vice president, Brand and Creative Services, and within her first year landed Aflac's fully integrated campaign that added the Southeastern Conference and the SEC Network to the company's national media focus. With more than 20 years of advertising experience and expertise, Watkins is a recognized brand leader and has received a number of prestigious industry awards including a Clio and a Cannes Bronze Lion. Other honors she has received include distinction as a "woman to watch" by Brand Innovators and the Kelley Brand Leaders award from Indiana University in 2018. Prior to joining Aflac, Watkins served in various brand, management and leadership capacities at companies including The Coca-Cola Company, Kraft Foods, ConAgra Foods and Procter & Gamble. Watkins holds a bachelor's degree from Fisk University and earned a Master of Business Administration from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University , where she serves on the board of the alumni association. Watkins also serves as a board advisor for the Alliance for Inclusive and Multicultural Marketing for the Association of National Advertisers, and she is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America.

W. Paul Bowers

Mr. W. Paul Bowers serves as Lead Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Bowers has been chairman, president and chief executive officer of Georgia Power, the largest subsidiary of Southern Company, since 2011. Before that, Mr. Bowers served as chief financial officer of Southern Company from 2008 to 2010. Previously, he served in various senior executive positions across Southern Company in Southern Company Generation, Southern Power, and the company’s former U.K. subsidiary, where he was president and chief executive officer of South Western Electricity LLC/Western Power Distribution.

Toshihiko Fukuzawa

Mr. Toshihiko Fukuzawa serves as Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Fukuzawa has been the president and chief executive officer of Chuo Real Estate Co., Ltd., a real estate development and leasing company in Japan, since July 2018. Previously, he was the president and chief executive officer of Yushu Tatemono Co., Ltd., also a real estate development and leasing company in Japan, from June 2015 to June 2018. He served as deputy president and a representative director at Mizuho Trust & Banking Co., Ltd. from April 2013 to March 2015, managing executive officer and head of the IT System Group at Mizuho Bank Ltd. from June 2011 to March 2013, and deputy president and a representative director at Mizuho Information & Research Institute from June 2009 to June 2011. From 2002 to 2011, he held executive officer and general manager positions at Mizuho Bank, Ltd., part of Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. Mr. Fukuzawa held various positions of increasing responsibility at Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank, Ltd., which he joined in 1979.

Thomas Kenny

Mr. Thomas J. Kenny serves as Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Kenny has served as a TIAA-CREF Funds Board trustee since 2011, and as chair of the board since September 2017. He recently served as chair of the TIAA-CREF Funds Investment Committee and on the TIAA-CREF Funds Operations Committee. Prior to his role at TIAA-CREF, Mr. Kenny held a variety of leadership positions at Goldman Sachs for twelve years, most recently serving as partner and advisory director. He also served as co-head of the Global Cash and Fixed Income Portfolio team at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he was responsible for overseeing the management of more than $600 billion in assets across multiple strategies with teams in London, Tokyo, and New York. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Kenny spent thirteen years at Franklin Templeton. He is a CFA charter holder.

Georgette Kiser

Ms. Georgette D. Kiser serves as Independent Director of the Company. She also helps set IT strategy for Carlyle Portfolio companies and drives IT / digital diligence and advisory efforts. Ms. Kiser was a managing director and chief information officer at The Carlyle Group, where she was responsible for leading the firm’s global technology and solutions organization from February 2015 until May 2019. In this role, Ms. Kiser developed and drove information technology strategies across the global enterprise, which includes the firm’s application development, data, digital, infrastructure, cyber security, and program management and outsourcing activities. Prior to joining The Carlyle Group, Ms. Kiser held positions of increasing responsibility at T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., also a global alternative asset management firm, from 1996 to 2015, including the role of vice president, Enterprise Solutions and Capabilities within the services and technology organization.

Karole Lloyd

Mrs. Karole F. Lloyd serves as Independent Director of the Company. Ms. Lloyd is a certified public accountant and retired as vice chair and managing partner for Ernst & Young, LLP, a global accounting firm, in December 2016. She brings more than 37 years of work experience and leadership, most recently as part of the board of Ernst & Young, and has extensive experience in the audits of large financial services, insurance, and health care companies. She has served as an audit partner for publicly held companies in both the United States and Canada. Ms. Lloyd’s other experience includes leadership and consulting with respect to financial reporting, board governance and legal matters, regulatory compliance, internal audit, and risk management.

Joseph Moskowitz

Mr. Joseph L. Moskowitz serves as Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Moskowitz retired from Primerica, Inc., an insurance and investments company, where he served as executive vice president from 2009 until 2014, leading the Product Economics and Financial Analysis Group. He joined Primerica in 1988, and served in various capacities, including managing the group responsible for financial budgeting, capital management support, earnings analysis, and analyst and stockholder communications support. He served as chief actuary from 1999 to 2004. Before joining Primerica, Mr. Moskowitz was vice president of Sun Life Insurance Company from 1985 to 1988 and was a senior manager at KPMG from 1979 to 1985.

Barbara Rimer

Dr. Barbara K. Rimer Ph.D. serves as Independent Director of the Company., is an Independent Director of the Company. Dr. Rimer has been dean of the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health since 2005, and alumni distinguished professor since 2003. Previously, she was director of the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences at the National Cancer Institute. She is a former director of Cancer Control Research and professor of community and family medicine at the Duke University School of Medicine. She was elected to the Institute of Medicine in 2008.

Katherine Rohrer

Dr. Katherine T. Rohrer serves as Independent Director of the Company. Dr. Rohrer is vice provost emeritus, Princeton University, having served as vice provost for Academic Programs from 2001 until 2015. Prior to assuming this role, starting in 1988, Dr. Rohrer held several senior leadership positions at Princeton University, including associate dean of the faculty and assistant dean of the college. Following her retirement, she served as interim associate dean of the graduate school in 2016-17. At Columbia University, she was an assistant professor from 1982 to 1988. Dr. Rohrer is also a trustee of Emory University, where she chairs the academic affairs committee and serves on the finance and executive committees.

Melvin Stith

Dr. Melvin T. Stith Ph.D. serves as Independent Director of the Company. Dr. Stith is interim president of Norfolk State University and dean emeritus of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, having served as dean from 2005 until 2013. Prior to assuming this role, Dr. Stith was the dean emeritus and the Jim Moran Professor of Business Administration at Florida State University for thirteen years. He has been a professor of marketing and business since 1977 following his service as a captain in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Command.
