He is an Associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. Shri Rajeev Kalra is also an Associate member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Shri Kalra started his career with BHEL as Executive Trainee (Finance) in 1995 and during his career progression, equipped himself with all facets in the area of finance, company law & listing compliances and Board related matters in various capacities.

He is an officer of Indian Audit & Accounts Service. He has vast experience in the area of public finance, budget & expenditure management and audit. He has also served as Consultant to Government of Antigua and Barbuda for three years on budget and account matters. He holds a Doctorate in Mathematics from Lucknow University in the area of Operations, Research and nonlinear programming.

Manoj Varma

Shri. Manoj Kumar Varma is Director ( Power ) of the Company. He is a Mechanical Engineering Graduate from SGSITS, Indore and an MBA in Marketing from Bhopal University. Prior to this, he was heading Power Sector- Southern Region, Chennai which is executing major power projects covering & contributing substantially to the BHEL's Power Sector segment as Executive Director. Shri MK Varma has 35 years of holistic and hands on experience in the field of Energy, Industrial System and Infrastructure industries covering major value chain functions viz. Production, Commercial Management, Marketing & Business Develop-rrient, Coritract Management,--- Planning & Development, Information Technology and Strategic Management. Shri MK Varma joined the organisation as Engineer Trainee at Transformer Plant, BHEL Jhansi and subsequently moved to Heavy Electri9al Plant, Bhopal where he worked in various capacities and later on transferred to Industry Sector, New Delhi as General Manager. During his career in BHEL, he also headed the Ceramic Business Unit of BHEL, Bengaluru with the Electroporcelains Division (EPD, Bengaluru) and Insulator Plant (IP, Jagdishpur) under its ambit.

D. Bandyopadhyay

Shri. D. Bandyopadhyay is Director - Human Resources, Director of the Company. He is an Electrical Engineer from the Jadavpur University, Kolkata, West Bengal. During a career spanning more than 33 years he has had diversified and versatile professional experience of work encompassing Strategic as well as Operational Management areas in various capacities in BHEL, including Power Projects both in India and abroad. He started his career in BHEL in 1981, at BHEL-Power Sector-Technical Services, New Delhi as an Engineer Trainee. Thereafter, working with Power Sector- Eastern Region, he spent a considerable period at erection sites in India, acquired and enriched professional experience in Project Implementation and Construction. Shri Bandyopadhyay has diversified experience of execution of a number of Power Projects of Power Sector as well as Industrial Sector in addition to Overseas Projects, which is a unique distinction. He was a key member of the team in successful execution of three consecutive EPC projects of PDO, Oman by spearheading the Engineering, Planning and Project Execution. The completion of these projects on time which also demanded implementation of very high standards of safety and quality, enabled BHEL to secure further orders from overseas, for Gas Turbines. Shri Bandyopadhyay led Power Sector - Southern Region (PSSR), as Executive Director and PSSR achieved its highest ever turnover of `1623 Crore, (an increase of 12% on YOY) with all-round growth in Value added and PBT of the Region. During his tenure as CEO of PSSR, he steered the Region to Profits from losses of earlier year. Under his leadership, PSSR has achieved highest ever Capacity Addition of 4518.5 MW (17% increase over 2013-14) which enabled BHEL in exceeding the Ministry of Power Target of Capacity Addition by 19%. To meet the challenges of reduced time cycle of projects, he spearheaded a team of creative engineers to introduce new initiatives like Project Planning module, PEMS etc in Power Sector.

Shri. Rajesh Sharma is Independent Director of the Company. Shri Rajesh Sharma is a Commerce Graduate, a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a qualified Company Secretary. He is a practicing Chartered Accountant, having a rich experience of more than 17 years of audit in many PSU's, National Cooperatives, Corporation & Banks. He is presently Central Council member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has held various positions such as Central Council Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (Govt. Nominee) and member of Capital Market & Investor protection Council of ASSOCHAM etc. Shri Sharma is involved in varied social activities such as inculcating skills in downtrodden to make them self-dependent and also running a Drug Rehabilitation Centre. Shri. R. Swaminathan is Part-Time Non-Official Independent Director of the Company. He holds a Bachelor degree (Honours) in Civil Engineering from the Madras University, Masters Diploma in Industrial Engineering from the National Productivity Council (NPC) and a Diploma in Arabic language from the American University in Cairo. As part of his Industrial Engineering Masters, he did a thesis on Turnkey Project Management Information Systems at the BHEL power project in Parli, Maharashtra in 1979. Ambassador Swaminathan has extensive experience in international relations including economic and commercial diplomacy, project management, Development issues including international aid and LoCs, public diplomacy, admini?tration, Atomic Energy, passport and consular services and Arab issues in a long career of 35 years. As Secretary to the Government of India, he was responsible for all the Latin American countries and Canada as well as Consular, Passports and Visas Divisions in . MEA. He was also the Director General of Inspections of MEA. Prior to this, he was Ambassador to Austria and Montenegro; Governor of India to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA); Permanent Representative of India to UNIDO, UNODC, Outer Space Organization and other UN Offices in Vienna. He has also served as Indian Ambassador to Egypt and the Arab League, Joint Secretary and Chief Passport Officer of India and Joint Secretary for Projects in MEA.,Heserved in the IAEA Secretariat in Vienna heading the Policy Planning and Coordination Division.
