Name Description

Michael Olson

Mr. Michael Olson is a Chairman of the Board, Chief Strategy Officer, Co-Founder of the company. Mike (@mikeolson) co-founded Cloudera in 2008 and served as its CEO until 2013 when he took on his current role of chief strategy officer (CSO.) As CSO, Mike is responsible for Cloudera’s product strategy, open source leadership, engineering alignment and direct engagement with customers. Prior to Cloudera Mike was CEO of Sleepycat Software, makers of Berkeley DB, the open source embedded database engine. Mike spent two years at Oracle Corporation as vice president for Embedded Technologies after Oracle’s acquisition of Sleepycat in 2006. Prior to joining Sleepycat, Mike held technical and business positions at database vendors Britton Lee, Illustra Information Technologies and Informix Software. Mike has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Tom Reilly

Mr. Tom Reilly is a Chief Executive Officer, Director of the company. Tom has a distinguished 30-year career in the enterprise software market. Prior to Cloudera, his most recent role was as vice president and general manager of enterprise security at HP. Previous to HP, Tom served as CEO of enterprise security company ArcSight , which HP acquired in 2010. Tom led ArcSight through a successful initial public offering and subsequent sale to HP. Before ArcSight, Tom was vice president of business information services for IBM, following the acquisition of Trigo Technologies Inc., a master data management (MDM) software company, where he had served as CEO. Tom currently serves as a Board Member for Jive Software, privately held Ombud Inc., ThreatStream Inc. and Cloudera. Tom graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Amr Awadallah

Dr. Amr Awadallah, Ph.D., is a Chief Technology Officer of the Company. Before co-founding Cloudera in 2008, Amr (@awadallah) was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Accel Partners. Prior to joining Accel he served as Vice President of Product Intelligence Engineering at Yahoo!, and ran one of the very first organizations to use Hadoop for data analysis and business intelligence. Amr joined Yahoo after they acquired his first startup, VivaSmart, in July of 2000. Amr holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt, and a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

James Frankola

Mr. James W. Frankola is Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Jim has over 25 years of experience in finance and operational leadership with global technology companies. Prior to joining Cloudera, Jim served as CFO of Yodlee, the leading provider of cloud-based personal financial management solutions (acquired by Envestnet). Prior to Yodlee, Jim served as CFO of Ariba (acquired by SAP) where he helped lead the company through several strategic initiatives including establishing Ariba as a leader in spend management solutions and transitioning the company’s business model from a traditional enterprise application vendor to a SaaS/cloud company. Earlier in his career, Jim held various financial and executive positions at Avery Dennison Corporation and IBM. A certified public accountant, Jim has a BS in accounting from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA in international business and finance from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

Vishal Rao

Mr. Vishal Rao is a Senior Vice President - Field Operations of the company. Rao has over 15 years of sales leadership experience. He joined Cloudera in March 2015 and serves as the Senior Vice President of Field Operations responsible for global Sales, Services and Business and Corporate Development. Prior to Cloudera Rao was Vice President, Worldwide Field Sales at leading operational intelligence software company, Splunk for five years. At Splunk he was responsible for growing revenues in excess of $450m. Rao has also held leadership sales positions at BMC Software, Inc. and at IBM. Mr. Rao holds a Bachelors in International Business and Marketing from Richmond, the American International University in London.

Daniel Sturman

Mr. Daniel Sturman, Ph.D., is a Senior Vice President - Engineering & Support of the company. Prior to Cloudera Dan was at Google where he led development of cloud products including Google Compute Engine, Google App Engine, and Kubernetes as well as the internal cluster management systems that manage all computation across Google’s fleet of servers. Daniel was also closely involved in the growth of Google’s New York office, leading a team working on a range of challenges faced by Google’s internal software infrastructure. Previous to Google, Daniel was director of development for DB2 on Linux, Unix and Windows in IBM's Information Management division. Daniel started at IBM as a researcher at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, where his research focused on revolutionizing the way people build and use distributed systems. His research concentrated on technologies for enterprise messaging and cluster computing. He holds a Ph.D. and master's degree in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor's degree in computer science from Cornell University.

Charles Zedlewski

Mr. Charles Zedlewski is a Senior Vice President - Products of the company. Charles (@zedlewski) joined Cloudera from SAP where he held various management roles in product strategy, management and operations. During his time at SAP Charles led the development of a half a dozen new and follow-on releases for products that supported some of SAP’s major growth initiatives in GRC, Sustainability, and EPM. Many of these products received substantial critical acclaim and collectively generated more than a hundred million dollars in new product revenues. Prior to SAP Charles held product roles at BEA Systems and venture backed software startups. Charles holds a bachelor’s degree from Carleton College and an MBA from MIT.

Mick Hollison

Mr. Mick Hollison is a Chief Marketing Officer of the company. As chief marketing officer, Mick Hollison leads Cloudera’s worldwide marketing efforts, including advertising, brand, communications, demand, partner, solutions, and Web. Mick has had a successful 25-year career in enterprise and cloud software. Prior to joining Cloudera in 2016, Mick served as CMO of sales acceleration and machine learning company InsideSales.com. Under Mick’s leadership, InsideSales pioneered a shift to data-driven marketing and sales that has served as a model for organizations around the globe. Previous to InsideSales, Mick served as global vice president of marketing and strategy at Citrix, where he led the company’s push into the high-growth desktop virtualization market. Before Citrix, Mick managed executive marketing at Microsoft and held numerous leadership positions at IBM Software. Mick is an advisory board member for InsideSales and a contributing author on Inc.com. He is also an accomplished public speaker who has shared his insightful messages about the business impact of technology with audiences around the world. Mick graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a bachelor of science in management.

Britt Sellin

Ms. Britt Sellin is a Vice President - Human Resources of the company. Britt is responsible for leading the company's human resources function, which includes talent management, training and development, strategic workforce planning, recruiting, compensation and benefits, and diversity initiatives. She ensures that “Clouderans” have a meaningful and rewarding work experience, influencing the company culture by reflecting the very best of open source: being collaborative, communicative and open. Prior to joining Cloudera, Britt held a variety of senior HR positions at VMware and Sun Microsystems while those companies experienced significant growth. Britt holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. Britt is passionate about ‘giving back’ to the community and is the executive sponsor of Cloudera Cares, the company’s employee-led and run philanthropic arm.

Paul Beduhn

Mr. Paul Beduhn is a Vice President - Field Customer Enablement of the company. with more than 30 years of experience in the software industry. Prior to Cloudera Mr. Beduhn was Chief Executive Officer and President of Vision Chain Inc.. Mr. Beduhn also served as Senior Vice President of TIBCO in Palo Alto, California, where Mr. Beduhn was responsible for worldwide software and consulting revenues and staff, consultants and trainers. Mr. Beduhn has served in senior management positions at some of the fastest growth software companies including Inktomi, MicroStrategy, and Sybase. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison with a degree in Computer Science and System Analysis.

Doug Cutting

Mr. Doug Cutting is a Chief Architect of the company. Doug (@cutting) is the founder of several successful open source projects, including Lucene, Nutch, Avro, and Hadoop. Doug joined Cloudera in 2009, after previously working at Yahoo!, Excite, Apple, and Xerox PARC. Doug holds a Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and is the former Chairman of the Board of the Apache Software Foundation.

David Middler

Mr. David Middler is a Chief Legal Officer of the company. He is responsible for all legal, regulatory, compliance, and corporate governance matters. He has over 20 years of legal experience, representing and advising companies on a wide variety of legal matters. Prior to Cloudera, David was the EVP and General Counsel for cloud software provider Ariba, Inc. David was a leader of Ariba’s legal team from its time as a private company through its IPO, and later culminating in its sale to SAP. After Ariba's sale to SAP, David served as the EVP and General Counsel of SAP's subsidiary responsible for cloud software sales. David began his legal career in private practice at a San Francisco law firm. He received his B.A. with high honors from the University of California, Los Angeles and his law degree from Stanford Law School, where he was an editor for the Law Review.

Martin Cole

Mr. Martin I. Cole is a Director of the company. Prior to retiring in August 2014, Marty Cole served as the chief executive of Accenture's Technology group, with responsibility for the full range of Accenture’s technology consulting and outsourcing solutions and delivery capabilities, including its Global Delivery Network. He led technology innovation, including the Accenture Technology Labs, the Accenture software business, and development of emerging technology solutions, including Cloud solutions. Marty joined Accenture in 1980 and also served as: chief executive of Accenture’s Communications, Media & Technology operating group, which serves clients in the communications, electronics, high technology, media and entertainment industries, by delivering industry specific solutions and focusing on the convergence of communications, computing and content; chief executive of Accenture's Public Service operating group, with overall responsibility for Accenture's services to governments and other public-sector entities; and as global managing director of Accenture's Outsourcing & Infrastructure Delivery group, where he led the development and oversaw the execution of Accenture's outsourcing strategy. Prior to this, he held numerous leadership positions in Accenture’s Public Service operating group. During his tenure Marty sponsored the formation of Taleris, a joint venture between Accenture and GE Aviation, to provide commercial airlines and cargo carriers around the world with services focused on improving operations by leveraging aircraft performance data, prognostics, recovery and planning solutions. He also served as the chairman of the board of Avanade, a joint venture of Accenture and Microsoft and was a member of Accenture’s Global Management and Operating Committees.

Scott Dietzen

Mr. Scott Dietzen was a Director of the company. He is currently CEO at Pure Storage, and prior to that was a three-time successful entrepreneur with WebLogic, Zimbra, and Transarc. Most recently, he was President and CTO of Zimbra, a vendor of open source messaging and collaboration software. Zimbra (now part of VMware) was a pioneer of the Web 2.0 and Open Core paradigms. Zimbra was originally acquired by Yahoo!, where Dietzen served as interim SVP of Communications and Communities. Prior to Zimbra, Dietzen was CTO of BEA Systems — acquired by Oracle in 2008, where he helped craft the technology and business strategy for WebLogic. Dietzen came to BEA in 1998 via the acquisition of WebLogic, an innovator in Java and web application server technology. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.

Ping Li

Mr. Ping Li is a Director of the company. Li joined Accel in 2004 and focuses primarily on information technology infrastructure and digital media platforms. His areas of interest also include datacenter virtualization, cloud computing, distributed data management and Internet datacenter scalability. He currently is an investor/board member of BitTorrent, Cloudera, Mochi Media, Mu Dynamics, Raptr, Verivue and YuMe, and he is actively involved in Imperva. Ping was also responsible for Accel’s investment in Reactivity (acquired by Cisco). Prior to Accel, Ping was a senior product line manager and director of corporate development at Juniper Networks. He managed Juniper’s flagship M-series router product portfolio. In addition, Ping worked on Juniper’s acquisition of NetScreen Technologies (a $3.5 billion transaction) and led all subsequent security and routing product and R&D integration activities. He also worked as a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company, advising technology clients in their growth strategies. Ping holds an A.B. from Harvard University, with honors, and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.

Rosemary Schooler

Ms. Rosemary Schooler serves as Director of the Company. Rosemary Schooler is Vice President and General Manager of Global Internet of Things (IoT) Sales for Intel Corporation (“Intel”). Ms. Schooler manages overall revenue across the various sales, technical support, and channels capabilities to deliver IoT solutions to Intel customers and partners. Previously, Ms. Schooler served as Intel’s Vice President of the IoT Strategy and Integrated Products Division in the Internet of Things Group (IoTG). Prior to her role in IoTG, Ms. Schooler was Vice President of the Data Center Group and General Manager of Intel’s Communications and Storage Infrastructure Group. Ms. Schooler holds a bachelor’s degree in Ceramics Science and Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and was named to “Who’s Who in Business” by the Arizona Republic in 2016. She’s been a member of industry boards including ATIS and TIA, and currently serves on NCWIT and the Industry and Professional Advisory Council (IPAC) for the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Penn State. Ms. Schooler was selected to serve on our Board due to her experience in the information technology industry.

Steven Sordello

Mr. Steven J. Sordello is a Director of the company. Sordello oversees financial operations at LinkedIn. Previously, he served as Chief Financial Officer of two Nasdaq publicly-traded companies. In July 2007, Steve joined LinkedIn from TiVo, where he was part of the management team that delivered TiVo’s first-ever quarter of profitability. Prior to that, he was CFO for Ask Jeeves and helped lead the company through a transition from unprofitable back to a profitable, high-margin company. During his tenure there, revenues and earnings grew significantly, and the company’s market increased from less than $40 million to more than $2 billion when it acquired by IAC/Interactive Corporation in 2005. Steve has also held senior finance roles at Adobe Systems and Syntex Corporation (acquired by Roche). He holds an MBA and BA from Santa Clara University.
