Name Description

Simeon Palios

Mr. Symeon P. Palios is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer of Diana Containerships Inc. Mr. Palios served as the Managing Director of Diana Shipping Agencies SA and performed the services he performs as Chief Executive Officer. In 1972, he founded Diana Shipping Agencies SA. He has served as an ensign in the Greek Navy for the inspection of passenger boats on behalf of the Ministry of Merchant Marine and is qualified as a naval architect and engineer. Mr. Palios is a member of various classification societies worldwide and he is a member of the board of directors of the United Kingdom Freight Demurrage and Defense Association Limited. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering from Durham University, United Kingdom.

Andreas Michalopoulos

Mr. Andreas Michalopoulos serves as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, Secretary, Director of the Company. Mr. Michalopoulos started his career in 1993 where he joined Merrill Lynch Private Banking in Paris. In 1995, he became an International Corporate Auditor with Nestle SA based in Vevey, Switzerland and moved in 1998 to the position of Trade Marketing and Merchandising Manager. From 2000 to 2002, he worked for McKinsey and Company in Paris, France as an Associate Generalist Consultant before joining from 2002 to 2005, a Greek Pharmaceutical Group with U.S. R&D activity as a Vice President International Business Development and Member of the Executive Committee. From 2005 to 2006, he joined Diana Shipping Agencies as a Project Manager. Mr. Michalopoulos has graduated from Paris IX Dauphine University with Honors in 1993 obtaining an MSc in Economics and a master's degree in Management Sciences specialized in Finance. In 1995, he also obtained a master's degree in business administration from Imperial College, University of London.

Christos Glavanis

Mr. Christos Glavanis serves as Director of the Company. Mr. Glavanis served as a Director of Diana Shipping Inc. from August 1, 2018 to February 19, 2020. Mr. Glavanis has over 30 years of experience in the audit profession, serving in several senior roles at Ernst & Young, including as Chairman and Managing Partner of EY Greece from 1987 to 2010 and Managing Partner of EY Southeast Europe from 1996 to 2010. Mr. Glavanis was also a main Board Member of EY EMEIA Regional and a member of EY Global Council. Currently, Mr. Glavanis is a non-executive board member of W S Karoulias S.A., a beverage distribution company based in Athens, Greece and BuyaPowa Ltd., a London, England based online platform allowing users to design, launch, and analyze social sales campaigns. He is also the trustee of Phase Worldwide, a United Kingdom charity. He previously served as a non-executive board member and chairman of the Audit Committee of Korres S.A, a Greece based cosmetics company, chairman of the Audit Committee of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund, board member and audit committee member of Eurobank SA and a non-executive board member of Pharmaten S.A. Greece based pharmaceutical company.

Aliki Paliou

Ms. Aliki Paliou serves as Director of the Company. Ms. Aliki Paliou has served as an Independent Director since February 2020. She has also served as Director, Vice-President and Treasurer of Unitized Ocean Transport Limited since January 2020. From 2010 to 2015 she was employed as a Director and Treasurer of Alpha Sigma Shipping Corp. Ms. Paliou studied Theatre Studies at the University of Kent in Canterbury, UK and obtained an M.A. in Scenography at Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design in London, UK. In 2005 she graduated with honors from the Greek School of Fine Art in Athens, Greece.

Reidar Brekke

Mr. Reidar Brekke is Independent Director of Diana Containerships Inc. Mr. Brekke has been an advisor and deal-maker in the international energy and transportation sector for the last 15 years. Mr. Brekke has served since January 2010 as President of Energy Capital Solutions, Inc. located in Florida. He also founded Energy Capital Services Inc. located in New York in March 2008 which provided strategic and financial advisory services to international shipping and energy related companies. In addition, he served as President of ECS Inc., a shipping and energy industry consulting and advisory services company, from March 2008 to December 2009. Previously, he served as Manager of Poten Capital Services LLC, a registered broker-dealer specializing in the maritime sector, from 2003 to January 2008. Prior to 2003, Mr. Brekke was Chief Financial Officer, then President and Chief Operating Officer, of SynchroNet Marine, a logistics service provider to the global container transportation industry. From 1994 to 2000, he held several senior positions with American Marin Advisors, including Fund Manager of American Shipping Fund I LLC, and Chief Financial Officer of its brokerdealer subsidiary. Prior to this, Mr. Brekke was an Advisor for the Norwegian Trade Commission in New York & Oslo, Norway, and a financial advisor in Norway. Mr. Brekke graduated from the New Mexico Military Institute in 1986 and in 1990 he obtained a MBA from the University of Nevada, Reno. He has been an adjunct professor at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs – Center for Energy, Marine Transportation and Public Policy, and is currently on the board of directors of three privately-held companies involved in container logistics, container leasing and drybulk shipping.

Giannakis Evangelou

Mr. Giannakis Evangelou is Independent Director of Diana Containerships Inc. Mr. Evangelou is a member of the Board of Directors of Elgeka-Ferfelis Romania S.A. and Diakinisis Logistics Services (CY) Limited both members of Elgeka S.A. Group of Companies which is listed on the A.S.E. Mr. Evangelou retired from Ernst & Young (Hellas), which he joined as a partner in 1998, on June 30, 2010. During his 12 years at Ernst & Young, he acted as Transaction Support leader for Greece and a number of countries in Southeast Europe including Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia. In addition to his normal duties as a partner, Mr. Evangelou held the position of Quality and Risk Management leader for Transaction Advisory Services responsible for a sub-area comprising 18 countries spanning from Poland and the Baltic in the North to Cyprus and Malta in the South. From 1986 through 1997, Mr. Evangelou held the position of Group Finance director at Manley Hopkins Group, a Marine Services Group of Companies. From 1991 through 1997, Mr. Evangelou served as Chief Accounting Officer for Global Ocean Carriers, a shipping company that was listed on a U.S. stock exchange during that time. From 1996 to 1998, Mr. Evangelou was an independent consultant and a member of the team that prepared Royal Olympic Cruises for its listing on Nasdaq. From 1974 through 1986, Mr. Evangelou was a partner of Moore Stephens P.C. Additionally, Mr. Evangelou is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Institute of Certified Accountants — Auditors of Greece.

Antonios Karavias

Mr. Antonios Karavias is Independent Director of Diana Containerships Inc. Since 2007 Mr. Karavias has served as an Independent Advisor to the Management of Societe Generale Bank and Trust and Marfin Egnatia Bank. Previously, Mr. Karavias served as a Deputy Manager of Private Banking with Alpha Bank from 1999 to 2006 and served as a Vice President at Merrill Lynch from 1980 to 1999. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Mississippi State University and a Master’s degree in Economics from Pace University, United States.
