Name Description

Lawrence Weinbach

Mr. Lawrence A. Weinbach has been appointed Independent Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Discover Financial Services. Mr. Weinbach has been chairman of Great Western Products Holdings, LLC, a manufacturer and master distributor of food and nonfood concession products, since 2009, and has been a managing director of Yankee Hill Capital Management, LLC, a private equity firm, since 2006. Prior to that, he was the executive chairman of Unisys Corporation, a worldwide information services and technology company, from 2005 to 2006, and its chairman and chief executive officer from 1997 to 2004. He began his career at Arthur Andersen, ultimately serving as managing partner and chief executive of Andersen Worldwide, a global professional services organization, which included Arthur Andersen and the company now known as Accenture, from 1989 to 1997.

Roger Hochschild

Mr. Roger C. Hochschild has been appointed President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of the Company. Mr. Hochschild has served as the chief executive officer and president of Discover since October 2018 and served as our president and chief operating officer from 2004 to 2018. He was executive vice president, chief administrative and strategic officer for Morgan Stanley from 2001 to 2004, and was executive vice president, chief marketing officer - Discover from 1998 to 2001, when Discover was a part of Morgan Stanley.

R. Mark Graf

Mr. R. Mark Graf is Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of the Discover Financial Services. In his role, he is also responsible for the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review and Resolution Planning program offices. He was also Chief Accounting Officer until December 2012. Prior to joining us, Mr. Graf was an investment advisor with Aquiline Capital Partners, a private equity firm specializing in investments in the financial services industry. From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Graf was a partner at Barrett Ellman Stoddard Capital. Mr. Graf was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Fifth Third Bank from 2004 to 2006, after having served as its Treasurer from 2001 to 2004. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

R. Andrew Eichfeld

Mr. R. Andrew Eichfeld is a Chief Human Resource Officer, Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer of the Compay. Prior to joining Discover, Mr. Eichfeld was an independent advisor from 2017 to 2018 and held various positions at McKinsey & Company from 1995 to 2017, where he was elected a senior partner in 2009. Mr. Eichfeld holds a Bachelor’s degree in Government from Oberlin College, as well as a Master’s degree in Middle Eastern studies and an M.B.A. in Marketing, both from the University of Chicago.

Glenn Schneider

Mr. Glenn P. Schneider is an Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer of the Company. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (2008 to 2015), Senior Vice President, Application Development (2003 to 2008), and Vice President, Marketing Applications (1998 to 2003). Prior to joining us in 1993, Mr. Schneider worked for Kemper Financial Services as a Programmer. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Computer Science with a minor in Statistics from Northern Illinois University.

Brian Hughes

Mr. Brian D. Hughes is Executive Vice President, Chief Risk Officer of the Company. Mr. Hughes is responsible for Corporate Risk Management, Model Risk Management, Information Security and Compliance, including the AML/BSA compliance program. Mr. Hughes joined Discover in 2012 as Senior Vice President and held leadership positions in Credit Risk Management, Deposit Products and Cardmember Marketing. Prior to joining us, Mr. Hughes held leadership roles at HSBC North America (2004-2012) and Booz & Co. (1993-2004). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A. from the Booth School of Business at The University of Chicago.

Daniel Capozzi

Mr. Daniel Peter Capozzi is Senior Vice President, Credit and Decision Management of the Discover Financial Services. He previously served as Senior Vice President, Credit and Decision Management beginning in June 2017. Mr. Capozzi is responsible for Credit Risk Management, Loss Forecasting, Analytics, Decision Science and related functions. Since joining Discover in 2007, Mr. Capozzi has held leadership positions in the Deposits business and Corporate Finance. Prior to joining Discover, he held various leadership positions in Finance at Citi and Bank of America. Mr. Capozzi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University.

Kathryn Corley

Ms. Kathryn McNamara Corley is Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary of the Company. Previously, she served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary (1999 to 2008). Prior to becoming General Counsel, Ms. Corley was Managing Director for our former parent company Morgan Stanley’s global government and regulatory relations. Ms. Corley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California and a J.D. and Honorary Doctors of Law degree from George Mason University. Ms. Corley is expected to retire from the Company in March 2019.

Julie Loeger

Ms. Julie A. Loeger is Executive Vice President, President - U.S. Cards of the Discover Financial Services. She served as Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer from December 2015 to October 2018 and was Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer from April to December 2015. Ms. Loeger joined Discover in 1991 and has held leadership positions in many areas, including Rewards, Portfolio Marketing, Acquisition, Brand Management and Product Development. Prior to joining Discover, she held various marketing positions at Anheuser Busch, Inc. She holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Finance from The University of Texas at San Antonio, an M.B.A. from Loyola University Chicago and attended the executive program at The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

Carlos Minetti

Mr. Carlos Manuel Minetti is Executive Vice President, President - Consumer Banking of the Company. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President, President - Consumer Banking and Operations (2010 to 2014), Executive Vice President, Cardmember Services and Consumer Banking (2007 to 2010), and Executive Vice President for Cardmember Services, and Chief Risk Officer (2001 to 2007). Prior to joining us, Mr. Minetti worked in card operations and risk management for American Express from 1987 to 2000, most recently as Senior Vice President. Mr. Minetti holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A & M University and an M.B.A. from the Booth School of Business at The University of Chicago.

David Nelms

Mr. David W. Nelms is no longer Executive Chairman of the Board of the Company. Mr. Nelms also assumed the role of Chairman in January 2009, a position that he held until stepping down as Executive Chairman in December 2018. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer from 1998 to 2004. Prior to joining us, Mr. Nelms worked at MBNA America Bank from 1991 to 1998, most recently as Vice Chairman. Mr. Nelms holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Mr. Nelms is expected to retire from the Company in March 2019.

Diane Offereins

Ms. Diane E. Offereins is an Executive Vice President, President - Payment Services of the Discover Financial Services. Previously, she served as Executive Vice President, Payment Services (2008 to 2010) and Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (1998 to 2008). In 2006, she assumed leadership of the PULSE network. Prior to joining us, Ms. Offereins worked at MBNA America Bank from 1993 to 1998, most recently as Senior Executive Vice President. Ms. Offereins holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Loyola University New Orleans.

Jeffrey Aronin

Mr. Jeffrey S. Aronin is an Independent Director of the Discover Financial Services. Mr. Aronin has been chairman and chief executive officer of Paragon Pharmaceutical Capital, LLC, a global pharmaceutical development company, since 2010. He is also chairman and chief executive officer of Paragon Biosciences, LLC, an affiliated global healthcare development and biopharmaceutical investment firm. From 2010 to 2017, Mr. Aronin was also chairman and chief executive officer of Marathon Pharmaceuticals, a research-based prescription biopharmaceutical company. From 2000 to 2009, Mr. Aronin was president and chief executive officer of Ovation Pharmaceuticals Inc., a biopharmaceutical company he founded in 2000.

Mary Bush

Ms. Mary K. Bush is an Independent Director of Discover Financial Services. Ms. Bush has served as the chairman of Bush International, LLC, a financial and business strategy advisory firm, since 1991. She advises U.S. companies and foreign governments on international financial markets, banking, and economic matters. Ms. Bush served as managing director of the Federal Housing Finance Board, where she established financial policies and oversaw management and safety and soundness for 12 Federal Home Loan Banks. She also served as vice president and head of international Finance of Fannie Mae, where she led funding transactions globally, and as the U.S. Alternate Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund Board.

Gregory Case

Mr. Gregory C. Case is an Independent Director of Discover Financial Services. Mr. Case has been chief executive officer of Aon plc, a leading global professional services firm providing advice and solutions in risk, retirement and health, since 2005 and was president from 2005 to 2018. He is also a member of Aon’s board of directors. Prior to joining Aon, Mr. Case was with McKinsey & Company, an international management consulting firm, for 17 years, most recently serving as head of the Financial Services Practice.

Candace Duncan

Ms. Candace H. Duncan is an Independent Director of the Discover Financial Services. Ms. Duncan retired from KPMG LLP, a global network of professional firms providing audit, tax and advisory services, in November 2013 where she had been managing partner of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area since 2009. Ms. Duncan also was on the KPMG LLP board of directors from 2009 to 2013, and served as chair of the board’s nominating committee as well as the partnership and employer of choice committee. Prior thereto, she served in various roles at the firm, including managing partner for audit for the Midatlantic area and audit partner in charge for the Virginia business unit.

Joseph Eazor

Mr. Joseph F. Eazor is an Independent Director of Discover Financial Services. Mr. Eazor has been the chief executive officer of Rackspace, a leading managed cloud company, since 2017. He previously served as the president and chief executive officer of EarthLink, Inc., a leading communications and IT services provider, and was a member of EarthLink’s board from January 2014 until February 2017. From 2011 to 2013, he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of global sales and customer operations at EMC and prior to that he served in a variety of leadership roles at Hewlett Packard and Electronic Data Systems. Mr. Eazor also served on the board of Commvault, a data protection and information management company, from October 2015 to July 2018.

Cynthia Glassman

Hon. Dr. Cynthia A. Glassman, Ph.D., is an Independent Director of Discover Financial Services. Dr. Glassman was appointed by President Bush as Under Secretary for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Department of Commerce from 2006 to 2009 and as Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 2002 to 2006, including serving as acting chair during the summer of 2005. Dr. Glassman is also a Senior Research Scholar at the Institute for Corporate Responsibility at the George Washington University School of Business. She held various positions over 12 years at the Federal Reserve, including as Chief of the Financial Reports Section and an Economist in the Capital Markets Section. She also has 15 years of experience in financial services consulting, including as a Principal of Ernst & Young LLP and Managing Director of Furash & Company.

Thomas Maheras

Mr. Thomas G. Maheras is an Independent Director of Discover Financial Services. Mr. Maheras has been the managing partner of Tegean Capital Management, LLC, an investment advisory firm based in New York since 2008. Prior to that, he was chairman and co-chief executive officer of Citi Markets and Banking, the investment banking division of Citigroup, Inc., where he held roles of increasing responsibility after starting his career as a fixed-income trader at Salomon Brothers. He has served as chairman of the U.S. Treasury Department Borrowing Advisory Committee and as an executive committee member of the Board of Directors of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.

Michael Moskow

Dr. Michael H. Moskow, Ph.D., is an Independent Director of Discover Financial Services. Mr. Moskow is currently Vice Chair and Distinguished Fellow, Global Economy at The Chicago Council on Global Affairs. He retired as president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 2007, where he had served since 1994. Mr. Moskow was a Deputy U.S. Trade Representative, following his appointment by President Bush in 1991, and earlier in his career, held a number of senior positions with the U.S. government, including undersecretary of labor at the U.S. Department of Labor, director of the Council on Wage and Price Stability and senior staff economist with the Council of Economic Advisers. Mr. Moskow serves on the board of directors of CityBase, Commonwealth Edison Company, a subsidiary of Exelon Corporation, and Cresset Private Equity Opportunity Fund. In the past five years, he has also served as a director of Taylor Capital Group Inc.

Mark Thierer

Mr. Mark Alan Thierer is an Independent Director of Discover Financial Services. Mr. Thierer currently serves as the managing partner of AssetBlue Investment Group, a position he has held since June 2017. From October 2017 through February 2018, Mr. Thierer also served as the interim chief executive officer of Dentsply Sirona Inc., a manufacturer of dental implants. Mr. Thierer was chief executive officer of OptumRx, a pharmacy care services company, from July 2015 until September 2017. He previously served as chairman and chief executive officer of Catamaran Corporation, one of the nation’s largest pharmacy benefit management companies, from March 2011 until it combined with OptumRx in 2015.
