Name Description

Seong-woo Nam

Mr. Seong-woo Nam is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer of Hanwha SolarOne Co Ltd. A 30-year management veteran, Seong-woo Nam joins Hanwha SolarOne from Samsung Electronics, where he recently served as the executive vice president and general manager of Samsung's IT Solutions Business, which includes its PC Business and Printer Business with 13,000 employees and revenues approaching $9 billion. While under Mr. Nam's direction the IT Solutions business experienced in four years a more than three-fold increase in revenues, sales into 90 new countries, expansion of manufacturing scale, and a more than 300% gain in market share. Prior to leading the IT Solutions Business at Samsung, Mr. Nam spent eight years directing the Business Innovation team across a broad range of business segments including Planning, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Logistics, and Information Strategy.

Jung Pyo Seo

Mr. Jung Pyo Seo is Chief Financial Officer, Director of Hanwha Solarone Co Ltd. Prior to his current position, Mr. Seo served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Azdel Inc., in Virginia from 2008 to 2011. While with Azdel Inc., Mr. Seo rebuilt the company’s cash and debt management systems and processes, implemented a new ERP system, managed commercial banking relationships, raised capital and helped the company expand market share in a competitive market with rising raw material prices. He also played an important role in the acquisition and post-acquisition integration of Azdel Inc. by Hanwha Corporation. Prior to that, Mr. Seo held a variety of accounting, finance and sales-related positions at Hanwha Resorts Corporation and Hanwha Chemical Corporation for 12 years. Mr. Seo received an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Washington, and a B.A. with a concentration in Finance and Accounting from Seoul National University.

Dong Kwan Kim

Mr. Dong Kwan Kim is Director of the Company. He was Chief Strategy Officer and Director of Hanwha Q CELLS Co., Ltd. Mr. Dong Kwan Kim has served as the Company's chief commercial officer since September 2014 . Prior to his current position, Mr. Kim served as Q CELLS's chief strategic marketing officer since August 2013 , where he led the development of new markets, expanded downstream opportunities and drove Q CELLS's return to profitability. From December 2011 to July 2013 , he served as Hanwha SolarOne's chief strategy officer, and from December 2010 to July 2013 , he was a member of its board of directors. He received a B.A. in Government from Harvard University , and was acknowledged as a "Young Global Leader" by the World Economic forum in 2013.

Seung Deok Park

Mr. Seung Deok ("Andy") Park is Director of the Company. Mr. Park has a broad range of experience including engineering, business planning and development, product management, corporate planning and strategy, and manufacturing. He is currently VP of Corporate Planning at Hanwha Q CELLS with responsibility for corporate level strategy, business planning and human resources. Mr. Park joined the Hanwha organization in 1994 as a research engineer and rose through the ranks at Hanwha Chemical Co., Ltd. until 2009 when he joined Hanwha Group headquarters as a director focused on incubation of new business opportunities including solar. He moved to China in 2012 to join Hanwha SolarOne (which was merged with Hanwha Q CELLS in February of 2015) as Senior Director, Product Management. In late 2012, he was promoted to VP, Corporate Planning and led the company's strategic direction and business planning. Mr. Park then moved to the company's ingot and wafering operations and led the turnaround of that entity through innovative cost reduction programs, technology and manufacturing upgrades, improved product quality, and capacity expansion. He received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Sogang University, Seoul , Korea in 1993 and his master's degree in chemical engineering from Pohang University of Science & Technology (POSTECH), Pohang, Korea in 1995.

Ernst Butler

Mr. Ernst A. Butler is Independent Director of Hanwha Solarone Co Ltd., since November 2006. He also serves as the chairman of our compensation committee and as a member of our audit committee. Mr. Bütler has been an independent board member/consultant since 2005. His other current positions include board member of Bank Frey & Co. AG, Zürich, Frey Group Holding, Zurich, ImmNeuweg AG, Zurich, and TIF Transport Infrastructure Fund Limited, Hamilton, Bermuda, and chairman of the board of Alegra Capital Ltd., Zürich, AA-Partners, Zürich and Lhotse Capital Advisors Limited, Hamilton, Bermuda, member of the board of XBiotech Switzerland AG, Zug and member of the advisory board of XBiotech Inc., Austin, Texas. From 1999 to 2005, he was a partner of Partners Group in Zug, the largest independent asset manager of alternative investments in Europe. Mr. Bütler spent over 25 years with Credit Suisse and Credit Suisse First Boston, with his last assignments being managing director and co-head of Corporate and Investment Banking Switzerland. He received a bachelor’s degree from the School of Economics and Business Administration in Zürich and attended post-graduate programs at University of Massachusetts in the United States, INSEAD European Institute of Business Administration in Paris, and MIT Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston.

Hyun Chul Chun

Mr. Hyun Chul Richard Chun is Independent Director of Hanwha Q CELLS Co., Ltd. Mr. Richard Chun has been Managing Partner of Saesidae Accounting Corporation, which he joined in April 2014 . He is also an audit committee member of Kangwon Land Inc. and part-time auditor of Unicef Korea. From 1994 to 2014, he held several positions, including audit partner and dean of Deloitte Academy. Mr. Chun is a certified public accountant in Korea and spent over 30 years holding audit related positions, including Audit Partner at Anjin Accounting Corp., a member firm of Deloitte. He holds the KICPA Registration and completed the AICPA examination. He completed his BA and MBA degrees from YonSei University in Korea.

Yinzhang Gu

Mr. Yinzhang Gu is Independent Director of Hanwha Solarone Co Ltd., since June 2007. He also serves as a member of our compensation committee and corporate governance and nominating committee. From 1962 to 1998, Mr. Gu worked for Eastern China Electricity Administration, a government agency overseeing power supply in eastern China, in various roles, including as deputy director and director. Mr. Gu retired from Shanghai Electricity Administration in 1998. Mr. Gu graduated from Zhejiang University in 1962.

Seung Heon Kim

Mr. Seung Heon (Steve) Kim Steve is Independent Director of Hanwha Q CELLS Co., Ltd. Mr. Steve Kim is vice president of the Defense Acquisition Program Institute, a non-profit organization licensed by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), where Mr. Kim served as Director General of Cost Accounting and Verification Group from August 2011 to August 2013 . He also serves as a non-executive member of the board of Directors of the Korea Consumer Agency, a public institution established under the Fair Trade Commission. From 1988 to 2011, Mr. Kim held several positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, including audit partner, where he led audit services to a broad range of Korean and multinational companies in a variety of industries. Mr. Kim is a certified public accountant in Korea having spent over 30 years holding accounting and audit related positions. He also received his CPA from the California State Board of Accountancy. He received both his BA and MBA degrees from Seoul National University in Korea.

Thomas Toy

Mr. Thomas J. Toy is Independent Director of Hanwha Solarone Co Ltd., since November 2006. He also serves as the chairman of our audit committee and corporate governance and nominating committee and as a member of our compensation committee. His other current positions include director of several privately held companies. Mr. Toy is co-founder and managing director of PacRim Venture Partners, a venture capital firm based in Menlo Park, California, since 1999, and is a venture partner/advisor for ICCP Ventures, a venture capital firm. Formerly, he was a partner with SmartForest Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Portland, Oregon and a partner and managing director of the Corporate Finance Division of Technology Funding, a venture capital firm based in San Mateo, California. From 1979 to 1987, Mr. Toy held several positions at Bank of America National Trust and Savings Association, including vice president. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern University in the United States.

David Wang

Dr. David N.K. Wang is Independent Director of Hanwha Solarone Co Ltd., since April 2, 2009. He also serves as a member of our audit committee and corporate governance and nominating committee. Dr. Wang was an overseas advisor to the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and an advisor to the Greater China Innovation and Entrepreneurship project of Stanford University in the United States. He was also a member of the board of directors of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) and chairman of its China Regional Advisory Board and a senior advisor to the chairman of the board of Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC). From November 2009 to July 2011, Dr. Wang served as president and the chief executive officer of SMIC. From September 2005 to June 2007, Dr. Wang served as the chief executive officer of Huahong Group and concurrently chairman of Huahong NEC, a subsidiary of Huahong Group. Prior to joining Huahong Group, Dr. Wang served as executive vice president of Applied Materials and president of Applied Materials Asia. Dr. Wang was responsible for Applied Materials’ business strategy, planning and execution throughout Asia. Dr. Wang has also been a member of, chaired and helped found a variety of councils, committees and associations related to technology and Asia-Pacific business and economy. He received his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
