Name Description

Dhanpal Jhaveri

Mr. Dhanpal A. Jhaveri is Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of the Company. Mr. Dhanpal Jhaveri has over 23 years of experience in investments, corporate strategy, M&A and investment banking. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Mumbai and an MBA from Babson College, Graduate School of Business, USA. He is on the Board of IndoStar Capital Finance Limited as a representative from Everstone Capital.

R. Sridhar

Mr. R. Sridhar is Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of the Company. Mr. R. Sridhar is known for his business acumen and has a proven history of building successful business. He was associated with the Shriram Group since 1985 and worked in various positions and roles, mainly in its Truck Finance business. During his latest stint with Shriram, he served as Managing Director & CEO of Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited, Mumbai (STFC) from the year April 2000 to March 2012. Under his leadership, STFC grew in leaps and bounds and has become the largest asset financing NBFC in India. During his tenure as the CEO of STFC, the market capitalization, which was Rs.20 crs. peaked to Rs.20,000 crs. and its assets under management soared from Rs.5000 crs. to over Rs.40,000 crs. He has been awarded “Entrepreneur of the year Manager” in 2011 by Ernst & Young and “Business Achiever” from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the year 2010-2011. Mr. Sridhar also represented Shriram Group on the Board of Shriram Capital Limited, Shriram Life Insurance Company Limited, Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited, Shriram Equipment Finance company Limited and Shriram Chits (Maharashtra) Limited. At present, he is an Independent Director on the Board of Shriram Properties Private Limited and Tata Motors Finance Limited. He has served as Chairman of Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC), a self-regulatory organization for NBFC-AFCs, from 2010-15. He was also a member of Corporate Bond and Securitisation Advisory Committee constituted by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and, Advisory Group on NBFCs constituted by Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India. Mr. Sridhar holds a bachelor’s degree in Science and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Pankaj Thapar

Mr. Pankaj Thapar is Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. Pankaj Thapar has over 30 years of experience in Corporate Finance, M&A and Capital Markets with large global and Indian companies. The former Managing Director in the Private Equity business of Everstone Capital Advisors, Mr. Thapar has also served as the Group CFO for Dentsu, a Japanese advertising major, where he was responsible for their business in India. Mr. Thapar has held a variety of senior corporate finance roles with global companies such as Coca-Cola, ANZ Bank, Citibank and ICICI, and has over 20 years of exposure to M & A and capital markets. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is an MBA from the University of Delhi.

Shailesh Shirali

Mr. Shailesh Shirali is Managing Director & Head – Corporate Lending & Markets, Whole-Time Director of the Company. Mr. Shailesh Shirali has over 23 years of experience in the financial services space and has held several senior positions in the area of corporate lending and structured finance. Before joining IndoStar, Mr. Shirali was CEO – Corporate Lending at Future Capital Holdings Ltd. where he was responsible for starting their corporate lending business from scratch and building a profitable book. Prior to that, he was MD – Global Structured Finance & Investments at DSP Merrill Lynch Capital Ltd., ED & Head – Structured Finance, Telecom, Leveraged finance at Rabo India Finance Ltd. and has also worked at ICICI Ltd. as SVP – Structured Finance. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Mumbai and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Prashant Joshi

Mr. Prashant Joshi is Managing Director & Head- SME and Retail of the Company. Mr. Prashant Joshi has 23 years of experience in financial services industry across Retail, SME and Corporate banking business. Here, at IndoStar Capital he is responsible for the Retail and SME business of the company. In his last assignment, he was Head- Private and Business Clients, at Deutsche Bank India for eight years. He is credited with turning around retail banking business for Deutsche Bank and making it highly profitable. Before his assignment with Deutsche Bank, he was the General Manager of SME Banking at Standard Chartered Bank. He has experience of working with reputed Indian and foreign financial institutions like ICICI Bank, Rabobank and IDBI Bank. Mr. Joshi is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
