Name Description

Robert Gwin

Mr. Robert G. Gwin serves as Independent Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Lyondellbasell Industries NV. He has been Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, an oil and gas exploration and production company, since 2009. Chairman of Western Gas Holdings, LLC, the general partner of Western Gas Partners, LP, an owner, operator and developer of midstream energy assets, since 2009 and director since 2007. Chairman of Western Gas Equity Holdings, LLC, the general partner of Western Gas Equity Partners, LP since 2012.

Bhavesh Patel

Mr. Bhavesh V. Patel is a Chairman of the Management Board, Chief Executive Officer of LyondellBasell Industries N.V. Mr. Patel joined LyondellBasell in March 2010 and as executive vice president successfully led the restructuring of the company’s O&P – Americas and O&P – Europe, Asia and International segments. These businesses established a track record of outperformance relative to their peers through increased efficiency and streamlined operations and Mr. Patel led the development of a strategy that effectively captured the U.S. shale advantage. As CEO, Mr. Patel has focused on the development and implementation of the next phase of LyondellBasell’s long-term growth strategy. Under his leadership, the company has made strategic acquisitions and opened facilities in the growing Indian and Chinese markets as well as acquired a plastics recycling business in The Netherlands to capitalize on the growing European circular economy. Mr. Patel has also overseen major capacity expansions including the construction of the company’s industry-leading Hyperzone high density polyethylene (HDPE) plant in La Porte, Texas, and the world’s largest propylene oxide and tertiary butyl alcohol (PO/TBA) plant in Channelview, Texas – the largest single investment in the company’s history. Under Mr. Patel’s leadership, in 2018 LyondellBasell was named to Fortune Magazine’s “world’s most admired companies” list for the first time in its history. Previously, Mr. Patel held several positions at Chevron Corporation and Chevron Phillips Chemical Company for more than 20 years in business management, strategy, planning and transactions, as well as sales and manufacturing roles. Mr. Patel serves on the board of directors of Union Pacific Corporation. He earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from The Ohio State University and he also holds a Master of Business Administration from Temple University.

Thomas Aebischer

Mr. Thomas Aebischer serves as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, Member of the Management Board of LyondellBasell Industries N.V. Mr. Thomas Aebischer is executive vice president and chief financial officer for LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies. He was appointed to the Company's management board in 2016 and is responsible for leading the Company’s treasury, investor relations, information technology, tax, finance and accounting functions. Aebischer joined LyondellBasell after having served in a variety of positions, including CFO, over a nearly 20-year career with Holcim, one of the largest cement, concrete and aggregates companies in the world. Holcim merged with Lafarge in 2015. In his role as Holcim's CFO, his responsibilities included the company's information technology, accounting and administration, investor relations, risk management and procurement functions. Earlier in his career, Aebischer held positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Bern cantonal tax authorities in Switzerland. Aebischer is a Swiss certified public accountant and alumnus of the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School.

Darleen Caron

Ms. Darleen Caron has been appointed Chief Human Resource Officer, Executive Vice President of the Company with effective from Oct 30, 2017. Most recently, Ms. Caron was executive vice president of global human resources for SNC-Lavalin, Inc. Previously, she led HR functions for the Dow Chemical Company and ABB, and both HR and environment, safety and health for Alcan. Ms. Caron holds a BBA from the Université du Québec à Montréal.

Mr. Daniel M. Coombs is Executive Vice President - Global Manufacturing, Projects, Refining and Technology, Member of the Management Board of LyondellBasell Industries N.V. Mr. Coombs was Executive Vice President - Intermediates and Derivatives and Chain, Procurement and Technology of LyondellBasell Industries N.V. Coombs has been senior vice president of Manufacturing at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company. He has held executive positions there since 2010, including senior vice president for Specialties, Aromatics and Styrenics, vice president of Corporate Planning and Development, and vice president and deputy general manager for Qatar Chemical Company Limited. He began his career in 1978 at Phillips Chemical, holding a variety of engineering and supervisory positions of increasing responsibility. Coombs earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1978 and a Master of Science degree in the same field in 1985 from the University of Tulsa. In 2004, he received an MBA from Texas A&M University.

Jeffrey Kaplan

Mr. Jeffrey A. Kaplan serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, Member of the Management Board of LyondellBasell Industries N.V. He has been deputy general counsel since joining LyondellBasell in December 2009. From 2001 to 2009 he served in a variety of leadership roles at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, including deputy general counsel. From 1992 to 2001 he was in private law practice in Houston. Mr. Kaplan earned his bachelor's degree from Amherst College and his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He serves on the national board of directors of the General Counsel Forum and is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and Houston Bar Foundation.

James Guilfoyle

Mr. James D. Guilfoyle is a Senior Vice President - Global Intermediates & Derivatives and Global Supply Chain, Member of the Management Board of LyondellBasell Industries N.V. Mr. Guilfoyle leads the Company’s Intermediates & Derivatives business and is also responsible for the Company’s supply chain function. Mr. Guilfoyle has served as Senior Vice President, Global Intermediates and Derivatives since June 2015, adding the supply chain function in January 2016. Prior to that, he served in a variety of leadership roles at the Company, including Vice President of Global Propylene Oxide and Co-Products from March 2015 to May 2015, Director of Polymer Sales Americas from January 2012 to February 2015 and Director of High Density Polyethylene from November 2006 to December 2011. Mr. Guilfoyle holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Cincinnati , a Master of Science in chemical engineering and an MBA from the University of Houston.

Paul Augustowski

Mr. Paul Augustowski serves as Senior Vice President - Olefins & Polyolefins, Americas of the Company. Paul Augustowski is senior vice president of Olefins and Polyolefins - Americas for LyondellBasell. He is responsible for leading this business segment which produces and markets ethylene, propylene, co-products, and derivatives including polyethylene, polypropylene and Catalloy resins. LyondellBasell Industries is one of the world’s leading producers of olefin and polyolefin products. Prior to this position, he was vice president of Polymer Sales - Americas at LyondellBasell and has previously held several managerial and technical positions at the Company within the Olefins and Polyolefins business segment. Augustowski has worked in the chemical and plastics industry for over 30 years including assignments in Japan and Poland. In Poland, he served as President and CEO of the company’s joint venture Basell Orlen Polyolefins. He started his career at LyondellBasell as a technical manager in 1990 at Himont USA, Inc., one of the legacy operations now part of LyondellBasell Industries. Augustowski is a member of the Board of Directors for Indelpro, the company’s polypropylene joint venture in Mexico. He is an officer of the Board of Directors for the Plastics Industry Association and is the vice chairman of the American Chemistry Council’s Plastics Division Operating Committee. Augustowski earned his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.

Massimo Covezzi

Mr. Massimo Covezzi serves as Senior Vice President - Research and Development of LyondellBasell Industries N.V. Prior to the 2007 merger of Basell and Lyondell Chemical Company, he was president of Research and Development for Basell Polyolefins. In May 2005, Covezzi was appointed president of Research and Development for Basell Polyolefins. In April 2004, he was named head of Product and Application Development for Basell and R&D site coordinator in Frankfurt, Germany. From 2001 to 2004, he was the site coordinator for Research and Development and Catalyst Manufacturing in Ferrara, Italy and head of Manufacturing Platforms within Basell. In 1995, when Himont became part of the Montell joint venture, he was named core technology director for polyethylene and four years later, he was assigned the same responsibility for polypropylene. In these roles, he coordinated all related research and development activities and programs worldwide. Covezzi serves on the Board of Directors of Federchimica, the Italian chemical industry association. In 2017 he was named Chairman of PlasticsEurope Italia. Covezzi holds a Master of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Bologna. He also completed an Advanced Management Program at INSEAD

Jean Gadbois

Mr. Jean Gadbois serves as Senior Vice President - Europe, Asia & International Manufacturing of the Company. Jean Gadbois is senior vice president of Manufacturing for the Europe, Asia and International region of LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies. Gadbois assumed this position in June 2015, and is responsible for leading manufacturing operations at 35 facilities in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australia. Gadbois joined the Company’s predecessors in 1986 and has had a diverse international career; holding various managerial roles in Manufacturing and Operations at sites in Europe. He also served as vice president of Supply Chain in Europe, Asia and International and also had roles in Investor Relations and Corporate Development. Gadbois holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering from l’Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal in Canada.

Richard Roudeix

Mr. Richard Roudeix serves as Senior Vice President - Olefins & Polyolefins, Europe, Asia & International of the Company. Richard Roudeix is senior vice president of Olefins and Polyolefins ? Europe, Asia and International for LyondellBasell, one of the world's largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies. The Olefins and Polyolefins segment produces and markets ethylene and its co-products, polyethylene, polybutene, polypropylene, Catalloy resins and polypropylene compounds. Roudeix assumed this position in February 2017, and was previously senior vice president of Olefins and Polyolefins – Europe. Prior to this position, Mr. Roudeix served as director of Olefins and Aromatics ? Europe. He has also held positions in Europe and the U.S. for the LyondellBasell predecessors companies, including serving as vice president of business units for Basell in Germany and vice president of polyethylene in the U.S. Prior to joining LyondellBasell, he served in a Manufacturing and Strategic Development capacity for Royal Dutch Shell in France, as polyethylene manager in Belgium for Montell and as product line manager in Germany for Elenac. Roudeix is an executive board member of CEFIC, Plastics Europe and the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands. He graduated as a Civil Engineer from the Ecole des Mines and completed a post-graduate program at the French Petroleum Institute (Ecole du Petrole et des Moteurs).

Michael VanDerSnick

Mr. Michael VanDerSnick serves as Senior Vice President, Americas Manufacturing of the Company. Mike VanDerSnick is senior vice president of Americas Manufacturing for LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies. He was previously senior vice president of Health, Safety, Environment and Security at LyondellBasell. Prior to this role, Mr. VanDerSnick served as senior vice president of Manufacturing for the company’s Europe, Asia and International regions. VanDerSnick has also served as site manager at the company’s Channelview, Texas plant — one of the largest petrochemical facilities along the U.S. Gulf Coast. Prior to this position, he was site manager at the Matagorda, Chocolate Bayou and Bayport plants in Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois.

Jacinth Smiley

Ms. Jacinth Smiley is appointed as Chief Accounting Officer, Principal Accounting Officer of the company effective April 2, 2018. She most recently worked for General Electric Company, where from 1998 to 2018 she held a range of roles in both the United States and Europe. Ms. Smiley’s most recent roles at General Electric include Chief Financial Officer for the North America Region and Integration Leader at GE Oil and Gas, a supplier to the oil and gas industry, from 2014 to 2018 and Chief Financial Officer for GE Licensing from 2012 to 2014. Ms. Smiley is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut.

Dale Friedrichs

Mr. Dale Friedrichs serves as Vice President - Health, Safety, Environment and Security of the Company. Dale Friedrichs is vice president of global Health, Safety, Environment and Security for LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies. He is responsible for oversight of the company’s operational excellence function, personal and process safety, environment, security, health, and product stewardship. Friedrichs’ career spans over 30 years and he has held numerous leadership positions in manufacturing with LyondellBasell and its predecessor companies. He has served as site manager at six LyondellBasell manufacturing locations along the Gulf Coast. He serves on the board of the Galveston Bay Foundation. Friedrichs is a graduate of Texas A&M University with B.S. degrees in Ocean Engineering and Civil Engineering.

Dr. Jacques Alfred Gilbert Aigrain serves as Independent Member of the Supervisory Board of LyondellBasell Industries N.V. He was Senior Advisor at Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm, since 2016 and partner from 2013 to 2016.
