Name Description

Ralph Clark

Mr. Ralph A. Clark is President, Chief Executive Officer, Board Member at ShotSpotter, Inc. He brings 30 years of extensive corporate, financial and organizational leadership to his position as SST, Inc.’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Most recently, Clark was CEO of GuardianEdge Technologies Inc., where he led the transformation of the company into a leader in endpoint data protection and was instrumental in its acquisition by Symantec. Prior to GuardianEdge, Clark served as Vice President of Finance for Adaptec through its acquisition of Snap Appliance, which he helped engineer. He was responsible for worldwide financial planning and analysis of Snap Appliance, serving as its Chief Financial Officer. Previous to his role at Snap Appliance, he worked at several venture capital backed start-up companies, leading several to successful acquisitions. Early in his career, Clark held executive sales and marketing roles at IBM; post business school he was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. He is a member of the board of directors Tactical Survey Group, and also serves as Chairman of The Board of Pacific Community Ventures. Clark holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of the Pacific, and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.

Robert Showen

Dr. Robert L. Showen, Ph.D. is Founder and Chief Scientist of ShotSpotter, Inc. Dr. Showen is SST, Inc.’s founder and patent holder on the technology. With over three decades of acoustic and geophysics research experience, it was Dr. Showen’s initial vision of helping police curb gunfire and urban crime that caused him first to conceive of ShotSpotter. Engineer, scientist, and teacher, Dr. Robert L. Showen attended San Jose State University, University of California at Berkeley, and Rice University. He obtained degrees in electrical engineering and space physics and won a fellowship to the Max Planck Institute. He has taught astronomy and physics at the University of Puerto Rico, performed experiments to heat the ionosphere at the world’s largest RADAR, participated in the development of over-the-horizon RADAR at SRI International, and studied the effects of lightning on the ionosphere.

Robert Calhoun

Dr. Robert Calhoun is Co-Founder of the Company. He is a founder, principal engineer and software scientist at SST/ShotSpotter, Inc. He has programmed in C, Visual Basic, and LabVIEW. He has written versions of the ShotSpotter detector and map displays, and designed sensitive detection, classification, and filtering routines to give the ShotSpotter its most impressive performance to date. Rob has earned his undergraduate degree, his masters, and his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from MIT.

Jason Dunham

Mr. Jason Dunham is Co-Founder of the Company. Jason Dunham is an engineer, a software specialist and a co-founder of SST/ShotSpotter. Jason’s specialty work is in vibration analysis as applied to components of nuclear plants. He has programmed in C, Pascal, FORTRAN, FORTH, Mathematica, and LabVIEW. He is the owner and founder of San Francisco Industrial Software Inc. which has an extensive local and statewide clientele. He has written a majority of the software used in the Trilon Technology gunshot location system, and is a co-inventor with Dr. Showen on patent applications for ShotSpotter technology. Jason earned his BS, Mechanical Engineering from MIT and his MS in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University.

Sonya Strickler

Ms. Sonya L. Strickler is Vice President of Finance, Controller of ShotSpotter, Inc. She is responsible for all financial operations for the company. She has over 15 years experience in public accounting auditing both public and private technology companies. Prior to joining SST, Inc., she worked for both KPMG and Arthur Andersen in Silicon Valley. She holds a bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of the Pacific and is a Certified Public Accountant.

William Bratton

Mr. William J. Bratton is Director of the company. He previously served as a member of the Board from April 2013 to December 2013. Since September 2016, Mr. Bratton has served as Senior Managing Director of Teneo Holdings, a global CEO advisory firm, and as Executive Chairman of its Teneo Risk division. From January 2014 until September 2016, Mr. Bratton served a second term as Commissioner of the New York City Police Department, or NYPD, by appointment. From November 2012 to December 2013, Mr. Bratton has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Bratton Group LLC, a New York City-based public safety and law enforcement consulting firm, which has consulted extensively in the United States and Latin America on policing, public safety and rule-of-law initiatives. From September 2010 to November 2012, Mr. Bratton served as Chairman of Kroll Advisory Solutions, a global security solutions and specialized law enforcement company, the successor to Altegrity Risk International, where he served as Chairman from November 2009 to November 2012. From October 2002 to October 2009. Mr. Bratton served as Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department. From 1996 until his appointment as Los Angeles Police Department Chief, Mr. Bratton worked in the private sector, including as Senior Consultant to Kroll’s Public Services Safety Group and Crisis and Consulting Management Group. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Bratton served his first term as Commissioner of the New York Policy Department by appointment. Mr. Bratton has also served as head of a number of other police agencies, including Commissioner of the Boston Police Department, Chief of Police of the New York City Transit Police Department, Superintendent of the Massachusetts Metropolitan District Commission of Police and Chief of Police for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. Mr. Bratton is the Vice Chairman of the Homeland Security Advisory Council.
