Name Description

James Mastandrea

Mr. James C. Mastandrea serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chief Executive Officer of Whitestone REIT. Mr. Mastandrea has over 35 years of experience in the real estate industry and 17 years serving in high level positions of publicly traded companies. He has also served since 2003 as the President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Paragon Real Estate Equity and Investment Trust, a real estate company currently focused on value-added real estate and investments in shares of publicly-traded real estate investment trusts, which traded on the former American Stock Exchange until 2006. Mr. Mastandrea has also served since 1978 as the Chief Executive Officer/Founder of MDC Realty Corporation, a privately held residential and commercial real estate development company. From 1999 to 2002, Mr. Mastandrea served as Chief Executive Officer of Eagle’s Wings Aviation Corporation, an entity formed to purchase a troubled aviation services business. At the time of the purchase, the business was in default on debt obligations. Following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the business was further adversely affected and in March 2002, Eagle’s Wings Aviation Corporation filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the federal bankruptcy laws. From 1994 to 1998, Mr. Mastandrea served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of First Union Real Estate Investments, a NYSE-listed real estate investment trust. Mr. Mastandrea also served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer. Mr. Mastandrea currently is a director of Cleveland State University Foundation Board and a member of the investment committee, a director of University Circle Inc. Board, Cleveland, Ohio, and a member of the real estate committee, and a director of the Calvin Business Alliance Board of Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mr. Mastandrea regularly lectures to MBA students at the University of Chicago and Rice University and also regularly presents to institutional investors in the U.S. and Europe.

David Holeman

Mr. David K. Holeman serves as Chief Financial Officer of Whitestone REIT. Mr. Holeman is Chief Financial Officer of Hartman Management, the Company's former advisor (2006); Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Gexa Energy, a NASDAQ listed retail electricity provider (2004 – 2006); Controller and most recently Chief Financial Officer of Houston Cellular Telephone Company (1994 – 2003).

John Dee

Mr. John J. Dee serves as Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Secretary of Whitestone REIT. He is Chief Operating Officer since October 2006. Trustee, Senior Vice President, and Chief Financial Officer of Paragon Real Estate Equity and Investment Trust (2003 – present); Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of MDC Realty Corporation, a privately held residential and commercial real estate development company (2002 – 2003); Director of Finance and Administration for Frantz Ward, LLP (2000 – 2002); several management positions and most recently Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer with First Union Real Estate Investments, a NYSE listed REIT (1978 - 2000).

Bradford Johnson

Mr. Bradford D. Johnson serves as Vice President - Acquisitions and Asset Management of Whitestone REIT., Vice President Acquisitions and Development of Campus Living Villages Funds (REIT), subsidiary of Transfield Holdings Group, fund sponsor, developer and owner (2008 - 2010); Director of Place Properties Inc., military and student-housing developer, owner and operator (2003 - 2007); Chief Financial Officer and Director - Matrix Health Care Development Inc., developer, owner and senior housing operator (1995 - 2003).

Christine Mastandrea

Mrs. Christine J. Mastandrea is Vice President - Corporate Strategy of the company. Prior to joining the firm, Mrs. Mastandrea advised Whitestone in its business development and strategy. She also worked with the executive team on high-priority projects including the firm’s IPO in 2010. Mastandrea started her career in banking at Robert W. Baird. Later, she served as a Chief Operating Officer at MidWest Development Corporation in Chicago, Ill and founding partner of Paragon Real Estate LLP, a partnership specializing in the restructuring and recapitalization of commercial real estate companies. Mrs. Mastandrea earned her MBA at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. She is a former trustee of the International Women’s Air and Space Museum. She currently serves on numerous boards including Lake Erie College, Calvin College Regional Council, and Cleveland Clinic Advisory Board for Women’s Health. Christine has a private pilot’s license and is an avid martial artist.

David Taylor

Mr. David F. Taylor is an Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Taylor currently serves as the Managing Partner of the Houston office of Locke Lord LLP. Mr. Taylor has been a Partner in the firm of Locke Lord LLP since 1996 and has served as a corporate and securities attorney at Locke Lord LLP since 1989.

Nandita Berry

Ms. Nandita Berry is an Independent Trustee of the company. She was formerly the 109th Texas Secretary of State from January 2014 to February 2015. She also previously served on the University of Houston System Board of Regents and held Senior Counsel positions at Locke Lord LLP and El Paso Energy Corporation. Ms. Berry began her legal career as an Associate at Haynes and Boone, LLP. Ms. Berry previously served on the board of the Houston Zoo, Inc., the South Asian Chamber of Commerce and the Community Family Center of Houston.

Donald Keating

Mr. Donald F. Keating is Independent Trustee of Whitestone REIT. Mr. Keating was formerly the Chief Financial Officer of Shell Mining Company. Mr. Keating retired from Shell Mining Company in 1992 and continued to provide consulting services to Shell Oil (NYSE) until 2002. Since 2002, Mr. Keating has managed his personal investments. Mr. Keating served in the United States Marine Corps as infantry company commander. He is a former board member of Billiton Metals Company, R & F Coal Company and Marrowbone Coal Company.

Najeeb Khan

Mr. Najeeb A. Khan is an Independent Trustee of the company. He is a President and Chief Executive Officer of Interlogic Outsourcing Inc. (IOI), a company he founded in 2001 that succeeds Interlogic Systems, Inc. (ISI), a company that Mr. Khan established in 1987. Under his leadership, IOI has grown from a local operation to one of the nation’s leading, award winning cloud-based payroll and human resources management solutions providers. Prior to founding ISI, Mr. Khan served as Vice President of Commercial Services for Midwest Commerce Data Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of NBD Midwest Commerce Bank, where he was responsible for the commercial services division that provided outsourcing solutions for payroll, accounting and inventory controls to diverse businesses. Mr. Khan currently serves as a Director of 1st Source Bank (SRCE), where he is a member of the Audit committee and Chairs the Loan and Fund Committee. Mr. Khan previously served as a Trustee of Memorial Health Foundation, on the Investment Committee of Community Foundation of St. Joseph County, Studebaker Museum and as a member of the Finance Committees for WNIT Public Television, and Holy Cross College. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Grand Valley State University.

Paul Lambert

Mr. Paul T. Lambert is Independent Trustee of Whitestone REIT. Mr. Lambert serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Lambert Capital Corporation. He served on the Board of Directors and was the Chief Operating Officer of First Industrial Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE) from its initial public offering in October 1994 to the end of 1995. Mr. Lambert has also served as a trustee of Paragon Real Estate Equity and Investment Trust since November 1998. Mr. Lambert was one of the largest contributors to the formation of First Industrial and one of its founding shareholders. Prior to forming First Industrial, Mr. Lambert was managing partner for The Shidler Group, a national private real estate investment company. Prior to joining Shidler, Mr. Lambert was a commercial real estate developer with Dillingham Corporation, and prior to that, was a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group.

Jack Mahaffey

Mr. Jack L. Mahaffey is Independent Trustee of Whitestone REIT. Mr. Mahaffey was formerly the President and Chief Executive Officer of Shell Mining Company. Since retiring from Shell Mining Company in 1991, Mr. Mahaffey has managed his personal investments. Mr. Mahaffey served in the United States Air Force and is a former board member of the National Coal Association and the National Coal Council.
