Associated Banc-Corp, incorporated on October 20, 1964, is a bank holding company. The Company, through its banking subsidiary Associated Bank, National Association (the Bank) and various nonbanking subsidiaries, provides a range of banking and non-banking products and services to individuals. The Company operates through three segments: Corporate and Commercial Specialty; Community, Consumer, and Business, and Risk Management and Shared Services. As of December 31, 2016, Associated Bank operated 217 banking branches serving over 100 different communities within Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Corporate and Commercial Specialty
The Company's Corporate and Commercial Specialty segment consists of lending and deposit solutions to businesses, developers, not-for-profits, municipalities, and financial institutions. It provides delivery of services through its corporate and commercial units, its commercial real estate unit, as well as its specialized industries and commercial financial services units. Within this segment, the Company provides various products and services, including lending solutions, such as commercial loans and lines of credit, commercial real estate financing, construction loans, letters of credit, leasing, asset-based lending and loan syndications; deposit and cash management solutions, such as commercial checking and interest-bearing deposit products, cash vault and night depository services, liquidity solutions, payables and receivables solutions, and information services, and specialized financial services, such as interest rate risk management, foreign exchange solutions and commodity hedging.
Community, Consumer, and Business
The Company's Community, Consumer, and Business segment serves individuals, as well as small and mid-size businesses. The Company provides a range of solutions to its customers through various channels, such as branches, phone-based services, online and mobile banking and a relationship-based business model, which assists its customers in navigating changes and challenges in their financial circumstances. It provides delivery of services through various Consumer Banking, Community Banking and Private Client units. Through Community, Consumer, and Business segment, the Company offers various products and services, including lending solutions, such as residential mortgages, home equity loans and lines of credit, personal and installment loans, real estate financing, business loans and business lines of credit; deposit and transactional solutions, such as checking, credit, debit and pre-paid cards, online banking and bill pay, and money transfer services; investable funds solutions, such as savings, money market deposit accounts, individual retirement account (IRA) accounts, certificates of deposit, fixed and variable annuities, and discount and online investment brokerage; insurance and benefits related products and services, and fiduciary services, such as administration of pension, fiduciary and corporate agency services, and institutional asset management.
Risk Management and Shared Services
The Company's Risk Management and Shared Services segment includes Corporate Risk Management, Credit Administration, Finance, Treasury, Operations and Technology, which are shared functions. The segment also includes interest rate risk residuals and credit risk and provision residuals (long-term credit charge mismatches).
