From 1988 to 1993 he served as Senior executive at Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftspruefungsgesellschaft, International Tax. Moreover, from 1986 to 1988 he was audit assistant at Dr. Koecke und Partner GmbH Wirtschaftspruefungsgesellschaft, Bank auditing. He has been on the Supervisory Board of Bayer AG and Heristo Aktiengesellschaft (Chairman). He graduated from University of Muenster in Business Administration and Economics (Diplom-Kaufmann). Moreover, he graduated from University of Hagen with a Doctorate in Business Administration and Economics from the Department of Accounting, Taxes and Auditing. He is Honorary Professor of the University of Osnabrueck and the Goethe University Frankfurt.
