Stephenson, Carol 

Ms. Carol M. Stephenson is Independent Director of Intact Financial Corp. Ms. Stephenson served as the Dean of the Ivey Business School at Western University from July 2003 until her retirement in September 2013. She worked for more than 30 years in the telecommunications and technology industries, most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer of Lucent Technologies Canada. Ms. Stephenson currently serves on the board of directors for several top Canadian and U.S. companies. She is the former Chair of the Government of Canada’s Advisory Committee on Senior Level Retention and Compensation, a position she held for more than 10 years. From 2005-2007, Ms. Stephenson served as a Member of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council on Science and Technology. In November 2006, she was appointed by the Federal Government to serve on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Olympic Games Organizing Committee (VANOC). In 2008, she was inducted into Canada’s Telecommunications Hall of Fame. In 2009, Ms. Stephenson was given one of the highest honours a Canadian civilian can achieve and was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada for her contributions to the development of our national telecommunications industry and for her work at the Ivey Business School. In 2011, she was ranked one of Canada’s Top 25 Women of Influence. In 2016, she was recognized by the National Association of Corporate Directors as one of the top 100 directors in North America. Ms. Stephenson is a graduate of the University of Toronto. She has also completed the Executive Program at the Graduate School of Business Administration, University of California at Berkeley, and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University. She was awarded an honorary doctorate from both Ryerson Polytechnic University and Western University.
