Quist, Scott 

Mr. Scott M. Quist is Chairman of the Board, President, Chief Executive Officer of Security National Financial Corp. Mr. Quist also serves as the Company’s President, a position he has held since 2002. He has additionally served as a director of the Company since 1986. Mr. Quist served as First Vice President of the Company from 1986 to 2002. From 1993 to 2013, Mr. Quist served as Treasurer and a director of the National Alliance of Life Companies (NALC), a national trade association of over 200 life insurance companies, and as its President from 1990 to 2000. From 1986 to 1991, Mr. Quist was Treasurer and a director of The National Association of Life Companies, a trade association of 642 insurance companies until its merger with the American Council of Life Companies. Mr. Quist has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Forum 500 Section (representing small insurance companies) of the American Council of Life Insurance. He has also served as a regional director of Key Bank of Utah since 1993. Mr. Quist holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University and received his law degree also from Brigham Young University. Mr. Quist’s significant expertise and deep understanding of the technical, organizational and strategic business aspects of the insurance industry, his management expertise, his 13 year tenure as President of the Company and 28 year tenure as a director, and his years of business and leadership experience led the Board of Directors to conclude that Mr. Quist should serve as Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.
