(The following statement was released by the rating agency) CHICAGO, August 28 (Fitch) Fitch Ratings has affirmed the ratings for Alleghany Corporation (Alleghany) as follows: --Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at 'A-'; --Senior debt at 'BBB+'.
