Hurricane Harvey downgraded to a Category 1 storm early Saturday after pounding the Texas coast overnight with life-threatening winds and drenching rains. The storm made landfall northeast of Corpus Christi late Friday, with maximum winds of 130 miles per hour. It was expected to roam across the coast for days. Forecasters say the storm surge could reach up to 13 feet and that there could be more than 3 feet of rain. Some areas have already seen nearly 10 inches of rain. President Donald Trump signing a disaster proclamation to provide federal aid to affected areas… areas that are home to as many as 6 million people believed to be in Harvey's path.
