ROUGH CUT. NO REPORTER NARRATION. North Korea's state-run television KRT on Saturday (September 16) aired video of the country's latest missile launch over Japan and still photographs they say are of its leader Kim Jong Un guiding the launch. Kim was shown beaming as he watched the missile fly from a moving launcher in still photos, surrounded by several officials. North Korea said on Saturday it aims to reach an "equilibrium" of military force with the United States, which earlier signalled its patience for diplomacy is wearing thin after Pyongyang fired a missile over Japan for the second time in under a month. North Korea's latest test missile flew over Hokkaido in northern Japan on Friday (September 15) and landed in the Pacific about 2,000 km (1,240 miles) to the east, the Japanese government said.
