ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Sunday said the growing relationship between Saudi Arabia and Iraq was "vital" to bolstering the collective security and prosperity between the U.S. and both countries. Tillerson was in Riyadh to meet with Saudi King Salman and Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi for the inaugural session of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council. He also had a photo op with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The council's creation was promoted by the Trump administration to improve relations between Saudi Arabia, Iran's main regional rival, and Iraq, whose majority Shi'ite-dominated government has close ties with Tehran.
