TAKE A LOOK-Trade talks, Doha and disputes

Mon Jun 7, 2010 7:08pm IST

World Trade Organisation members are trying to reach a deal
to open up global commerce, but a pledge by G20 leaders to
conclude a Doha round agreement by 2010 is unlikely to be met.
The WTO is also monitoring trade policies for protectionism,
after trade contracted by 12.2 percent in 2009 -- the biggest
fall since World War Two. The WTO believes trade will rebound by
9.5 percent this year.
