India organic farming area 312,000 hectares

MUMBAI (Reuters) - India's certified area under organic farming has reached 312,000 hectares, junior federal farm minister Kanti Lal Bhuria said late on Monday.

India is implementing the National Project on Organic Farming for production, certification and market development of organic farming in the country.

The Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority under the trade ministry is promoting export of organic products.
