ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: China's CCTV airs footage of Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to the North Korean embassy in Beijing on Tuesday (December 20) to "express condolences," for the death of Kim Jong-il, showing Beijing's determination to guard its ties with Pyongyang as North Korea enters an uncertain transition. Hu's visit, reported by the official Xinhua news agency, followed a message from China's central leadership on Monday (December 19) expressing confidence in the young and little-known successor to power in North Korea, Kim Jong-un.
