John Cusack received the 2,469th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Cusack, who has maintained a nearly 30-year career in showbiz, was on hand to accept the honor. SOUNDBITE: John Cusack saying (English): "To the best of my knowledge, I've tried to screw my career up as much as I possibly could, but even with all my best efforts to screw it up, I managed to have lasting friendships, some of the best friends I've ever met in the business." And those friends came out to help celebrate his star: Billy Bob Thornton, Jack Black, Dan Aykroyd, and his sister Joan Cusack all appeared to mark the occasion. SOUNDBITE: Joan Cusack saying (English): "There's magic in him. Who knows where it came from? Passion for what he does. I think he himself is part, "It's a Wonderful Life," part "Dr. Strangelove," and part "Charlie Brown's Christmas." Cusack's latest film, "The Raven" hits theaters on April 27. In it, Cusack plays literary great Edgar Allan Poe, who helps find a murderer that is killing people based on his writings. Bob Mezan, Reuters.
